So...I have a sad story. I haven't posted lately, and there's a reason for that.
About a week and a half ago, my laptop met with an unfortunate accident. I was carrying my laptop when I knocked over a glass of water that my sister left on my bedroom floor. Stupidly, I set my laptop on the floor to try to mop up the water with a towel. I bumped the glass, and it fell the other way, splashing my laptop with the little bit of water left in the cup.
Needless to say, I panicked. I took it downstairs and opened it up to let it dry off, but I'm afraid it's a goner. Currently I've hijacked my mom's netbook, since she and my dad have been on a business trip for the past ten days.
I'm not much of a tech nerd (despite what my family thinks) but I'm pretty sure the water fried my motherboard. Since my parents left the day after the incident occured, they told me I needed to wait until they got back to make any big purchases like a new motherboard or a whole new laptop. I've been (im)patiently waiting for them to get home so I can discuss options with them, and the happy news is that they'll be home tonight. But not until about midnight. So sadly, I probably won't have a fix for at least another couple of days.
Anyway, I just wanted to explain my lack of posting, and I'm sorry there aren't any drawings in this post. They would most likely have been of me, weeping over my fallen laptop, but my mom's netbook doesn't have paintbrush on it, so...can't draw anything. You'll just have to imagine that image.

I'm A Barista!
Or I will be once I finish my training anyway.
One of my older posts was about the "coffee bar" we had in our dorm room. I made some reference to Starbucks, and in retrospect, it's a little blasphemous. Or something like that.
On Friday I had an interview, and on Friday I was hired. Tonight was my first night of training. I'm not working at a Starbucks though. (Hence the "blasphemous" comment.) I'm working at a Biggby. So it's not:
If you've never heard of Biggby Coffee before, chances are you don't live in the midwestern United States. Fun fact to be proud of as a Michigander, Biggby was actually founded right here in our state. About 20 minutes from my town actually. And the store I am now employed at is store #11. It's old. We were informed in our training tonight about how to shut off the main water supply in case of an emergency like exploding pipes. No joke. Oh, and the electricity. In case of electrical fire. Fun stuff.
Back to the point, Biggby isn't a huge chain, but there are stores all over Michigan, as well as several in Ohio, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Illinois. There are a random few in South Carolina, Alabama, and Texas, but otherwise, it's a midwest thing.
So that's my exciting life news for now. Tonight I learned how to do things like pull espresso shots, make creme freezes, and shut off power and water in case of an emergency. Or as a fun practical joke.
Just kidding. I'd probably get fired for that, and I haven't even worked a real shift yet.

Like I portrayed in my post back in the day. Instead, it's more like:
Wow...My drawing skills have already improved since that first drawing. I look a lot less like a clown in the new drawing. And you know I hate clowns. Anyway, I digress.
